How to Get Free Perfume Samples
Perfume can be quite expensive. If you dont already have a favorite, you will not want to spend the money to blindly buy a bottle. This is because the chances that you might not like the fragrance you bought is 50/50 and if you are picky the odds are higher. Getting free samples will help you find a perfume you like without wasting any money.

What is Perfume
Perfume is a mix of oils and various liquids that produce a pleasant odor. The perfume is used on people to make them smell attractive. Perfume can also be added to objects to make a pleasant smell in the home or office. Perfumes can be added to soaps, air fresheners, fabric softners, and even carpet deodorizers.
Where to Get Free Perfume Samples
1. Visit Nordstrom and Sephora in person and head to the perfume counter. Ask them if they have any free samples you can try. They usually do and are more than happy to give them to you. You can do this at any store in your area that sells perfume, but they dont all have free samples to offer you. If they dont have a pre-made free sample, bring a tissue and ask the clerk if they could give you a squirt or two to try out. If they are interested in eventually getting a sale from you, this shouldnt be a problem.
2. Magazines. There are several magazines that offer more than one perfume sample among their pages. The best way to get the most free samples is to visit the nearest store that sells a collection of magazines. Flip through the pages of the magazine and count how many free samples are inside. Once you have flipped through a few of the magazines, you will know which ones have the most free samples. Get those. The free samples can be opened and smelled. If you like the smell, you can then try it out by rubbing it on your wrist. If you still like the smell of the perfume on your body, then you know that you have a winner. The best magazines to find samples are Elle and Vogue. The upside to this method of obtaining free perfume samples is that you have access to them instantly.
3. All Free Samples.com (see resources for the link) offers more than ten free samples. These are name brand samples such as J Lo, Jessica Simpson, and Calvin Klein. Click on the fragrance title that you are interested in and you will be taken to a place where you must fill out your name, address, birth date, and email address. You will then be sent your sample four to six weeks later. They will start sending you emails, but as soon as you get the first one, you can click the opt out link.
4. Call or write the manufacturer of the perfume you want to try. Let them know that you are interested in trying their perfume before you make a purchase and you would like a free sample. Most of the time, especially if the fragrance is new on the market, the company will take your information and then send you a sample. Again, you can expect to wait four to six months for the sample to arrive at your house.
5. Visit Walmarts website. Walmart has a free sample section only on the website (not in the store). You can get the link from the resource section of this article. When you enter the Walmart website click on In Stores Now which is located on the left hand side bar. Next click on Free Samples. Sometimes there will be free fragrance samples and sometimes there wont. It just depends so you should check back once per week to see if anything new was added. Your sample usually arrives faster than the four to six weeks. You will need to fill out a short survey, but it is only three or four questions long.
6. Swap your perfume samples or perfume bottles with others. This is an excellent way to try new fragrances for free. You can form your own perfume swapping group locally, or you can use the website Make Up Alley (see resources). You cant purchase any perfume on this site, you can only swap with other users. You must have perfume or samples that you dont want. You list them and then you are allowed to request someone elses sample. Make sure you read all of the information on the website and abide by their rules so that the swapping is fair to everyone.
7. Have a perfume party. Plan a date ahead of time that your family and friends can come over for a night of fun and perfume sampling. Have each member bring at least three perfume samples. If you want, you can buy some small vials and give them out. Have the group use the vials by filling the vials with some of the perfume they have at home. That way they are not bringing their whole bottle over. Give them sticky labels so that everyone knows what the fragrance is. Provide tissues and small rectangles of paper so that they can test the fragrances out at your house. You might want to put out some sandwiches or snacks to make the night fun.

*Let everyone know that you are interested in free perfume samples. As they come across some, they can set them aside for you. If you have five or ten people doing this for you, you can have something new to try every week.
*Keep your eye out for new perfumes on the market. They are the easiest ones to get free samples of.
Warning:
*Watch out if you decide to do a search on your favorite search engine for free perfume samples. Some of the sites that come up say if you take a survey you will get a free sample of perfume. What they really expect you to do after you submitted all of your personal information is subscribe to their sponsor offers. If you do this you may end up having to spend money, and you will get your email address loaded with spam. You may also end up with unwanted phone calls from salesmen.
*Dont rip out the free samples from any of the magazines you are looking at if you havent paid for the magazine.
