Reese Witherspoon: The Newest Avon Spokesperson

The rumor mill has been running lately as to who would be the newest Global Ambassador of Avon Products, Inc. After much thought and consideration, on August, 1, 2007, Avon announced that they have signed the Oscar-Winning actress Reese Witherspoon as their first ever Global Ambassador! Reese will serve as the Honorary Chairman of the Avon Foundation. She will focus on issues that have long since been a part of awareness and promotion with the Avon campaign. Those being: emergency relief, breast cancer awareness, and domestic violence.

She has signed a multi-year agreement and wil also be on the forefront of sales representatives and marketing, as well as product development, website, and brochure campaign marketing.

Avon wanted to partner with someone who could not only relate to and promote the Avon company, but also be a source of inspiration to the over 5 million Avon Representatives from all over the globe! Reese was chosen as the perfect fit. She has an incredible poise and confidence, and is able to balance her booming career (acting and producing), while being a devoted, hands-on mom to her 2 children. She is incredibly motivated, intuitive, and has a keen entrepreneurial spirit and relatability that is the true heart of the Avon representative.

This is the first time that Avon has ever had a celebrity representation on all three dimensions of their business. These being: the brand, the representatives, and the humanitarian efforts. Here is Reese Witherspoon's response to being chosen as Avon's Global Ambassador:

Reese Witherspoon's ever growing resume, and incredible style icon/acting staus, makes her "America's Sweetheart." Adding Avon Ambassador to the list, is like a macth made in Heaven, and I'm sure will cause even greater success to both the Avon Brand products and philanthropy efforts/awareness, as well as make Reese' even more of a household name!

Reese' films include: Walk the Line (Academy Award Winner amongst many other awards that year), Sweet Home Alabama, Legally Blonde 1 and 2, Vanity Fair, Just Like Heaven, and Pleasantville, just to name a few. She also is currently active with "Save the Children" and serves on the board of the Childrens' Defense Fund.
